Professorship (W2) for Geometric Aspects in Pure Mathematics


The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Georg-August-University Göttingen invites applications for a

professorship (W2): geometric aspects in pure mathematics

to be filled at the earliest possible date.

Applications in the fields of algebraic geometry or harmonic analysis are particularly welcome. The successful candidate is expected to participate actively in the Courant Center ``Higher Order Structures in Mathematics" and in the development of research clusters. Teaching duties include courses at the bachelor and masters level as well as the participation in the PhD programme of the faculty.

Applicants are expected to have a "habilitation" or equivalent qualification. Further details can be found at §25 of the "Niedersächische Hochschulgesetz" (version of February 26/2007, cf.Nds.GVBl.5/2007, p.69) and will be explicated upon request.

The successful candidate is expected to have an excellent and internationally competitive research record.
