The institutes
are located in the southern area of Göttingen. You can get there as follows.
By train to Göttingen main station: Search for a train connection here. By foot from Göttingen main station (about 15-20 minutes):Leave the station in the direction of "Zentrum" (Centre). Turn right and follow the road ("Berliner Straße"). Cross the next big junction and follow the road further ahead ("Bürgerstraße"). The fourth street to the right is the Bunsenstraße, the MI building is the corner building on the left-hand side. To get to the Insitute for Numerical and Applied Mathematics, follow the Bürgerstraße further and turn right into the Lotzestraße. The NAM building is located at the next junction (corner "Böttingerstraße").
By bus Göttingen main station: Search for a bus connection here.Leave the station in the direction of "Zentrum" (Centre), the bus terminal (ZOB) is located to your right.
Start: Göttingen Bahnhof/ZOB
Destination: for MI, Göttingen Bunsenstraße;
for NAM, Göttingen Walkemühlenweg
By car:
By car, the Mathematical Institute and the Institute for Numerical and Applied Mathematics can be reached via the A7 motorway. You leave the motorway at exit no. 73 Göttingen/Dransfeld (not Göttingen Nord!) towards the Centre (Zentrum).
Staying at the right lane, after 3km (ca. 1.8 miles) you will cross the Leine river and you will go through a railway underpass.
Then turn right into the Bürgerstraße. Depending on whether you want to go to the Mathematical Institute or to the Institute for Numerical and Applied Mathematics, you turn right at the fourth (Bunsenstraße) respectively fifth possibility (Lotzestraße). Paid parking is available. |
